Equipment:

  • A double-boiler (or DIY it with a sauce pan with a few inches of water, stacked with a metal or glass bowl on top that fits snug)
  • Fine mesh strainer
  • Storage container (i.e. mason jar with a lid)
  • Unbleached cheesecloth
  • Baking sheet

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup olive oil, coconut oil, or oil of your choice
  • 1 cup grounded decarboxylated cannabis (instructions below)
  • *Please note that dosing depends on your tolerance
  • *Oil lasts 6 months to 1 year

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees F
  2. Grind up about 1 cup or about 7-10 grams of hemp (We recommend Catskill Hemp Co.)
  3. Spread grinded hemp evenly across a baking sheet
  4. Heat in the oven for 25-30 minutes
  5. Add water to the bottom pan of your double-boiler or saucepan
  6. Add 1 cup of oil of your choice to the top section of the double-boiler or bowl
  7. Stir in the decarboxylated hemp into the melted oil
  8. Continue to heat up hemp and oil over a low heat for about 30-60 minutes, stirring occasionally (optional: use a thermometer to check temperature. Maintain the oil below 200 degrees F. We always aim between 130-150 degrees F and infuse for about an hour)
  9. Turn off the heat and line a strainer with the cheesecloth and position it over a glass bowl
  10. CAREFULLY pour the hemp and oil mixer through the strainer. (Warning as oil will be hot!)
  11. Grab the cheesecloth and gently squeeze the excess oil from the hemp (note: wear food grade gloves to avoid greasy hands)
  12. Transfer the infused oil over to your glass jar and seal it
  13. Store in a cool dark location
  14. Ready for use, enjoy!
